Lesley A. Langa
I am a social science researcher working in cultural policy. My work focuses on the big picture of cultural heritage, including an individual's experience with it, how we protect it, how we support cultural work, and evaluating the mechanisms we use to do all of this. I believe that in today's research environment, it's important to be flexible and have a diverse range of skills. My work has included quantitative and qualitative data analysis, data visualization, and using innovative data collection methods like crawling the web. I've also worked at museums, federal cultural agencies, and small nonprofits. Using this diverse background, I set out to find the answers to questions that can affect practice in the field. I run my own consulting firm, NovaKultura and I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland's iSchool.
